ManageEngine OpManager Nexus: Monitoring Ledger 2026

ManageEngine is folding OpManager and its sister modules into one Nexus suite with local and cloud LLM features on top.

Edition October 4, 20266 min read

Part of the Infrastructure Monitoring Ledger (edition 2026-10-04). How the scores work: methodology.

    Snapshot

    • Tier: Leader incumbent
    • Owner: Zoho Corporation, privately held and founder-controlled, no outside investors since 1996
    • Licence model: Per-device annual subscription or perpetual licence with 20 percent yearly maintenance; Nexus device packs; MSP edition per customer
    • Products scored: OpManager 12.8 (Standard, Professional, Enterprise), OpManager Nexus suite with Applications Manager, NetFlow Analyzer, NCM, Firewall Analyzer, OpUtils, and OpManager MSP
    • Latest release: OpManager Build 12.8.712, 2026-09-23
    • Next signal: Nexus platform unification through 2026-2027; MCP server with approval gates in H2 2026; Proxmox Ceph metrics in Q4 2026
    • Archetype: Broad suite, steady builds
    • Evidence grade: B. Build readme, lifecycle table and store prices are primary (A); the AI evidence and the security record contradict the release record on AI maturity and KEV scope.

AI say-do (AI evidence): 2 announced, 1 GA (GPU monitoring), 1 preview (Zia assistant), 0 pending, 0 dropped; the release record adds OpenAI, Ollama and MCP items, all shipped. The AI explains alarms and groups alerts; it does not act.

    Reading

ManageEngine is folding OpManager and its sister modules into one Nexus suite with local and cloud LLM features on top. The record is unusually steady: monthly builds, 33 of 33 promises shipped, and Proxmox, Ansible and an MSP edition already in place. The trade-off is a proprietary data model and product-specific skills, against low prices, perpetual licences and a stable private owner.

    Open questions and evidence caveats

    • the security record and the release record disagree on whether CVE-2022-47966 affects OpManager; the Security score assumes it does not.
    • The AI evidence reports the assistant as a read-only preview and no MCP server, while the release record reports GA chatbot and a preview MCP server.
    • Scale claims (10,000 devices, 50,000 metrics per second) are vendor statements without benchmark detail.
    • Applications Manager features count because the suite bundles it; OpManager alone is narrower.
