AI say-do, 2023 to 2026: 4 AI items announced; 2 GA, 2 still preview, 0 pending, 0 dropped. Counts approximate (grade C). The 'MCP server' claim covers documentation only.

VergeIO was the first in this batch to build an LLM service into the platform itself, included in the product. Its agent story is thinner than announced: the MCP server serves documentation, not the customer's environment.

    Reading

VergeOS puts compute, storage, networking and multi-tenancy into one operating system, and it is the strongest platform here for service providers who want nested tenants. It has used the VMware exit well (migration, NSX-style networking, Veeam) and was early with a built-in LLM service. The trade-off is a fully proprietary stack from a small vendor, with no external storage option.

Open questions and items to re-score

    • No external SAN as primary storage; the whole stack is VergeIO's.
    • vGPU live migration has been experimental since Nov 2024.
    • Kubernetes repos have one commit each and no tagged releases despite the GA announcement.
    • Releases before 4.9 and funding amounts not found.
